    The following is some of the donor's intellectual history from early childhood until the present:

    Elementary school (grades 1-6, age 6-12)

    • 3rd grade: 2nd place in school science fair with science project entitled "The Quiz Box - A Simple Computer".
    • 4th grade: 3rd place in school science fair with science project entitled "Using Red Cabbage Juice to Determine Acidity".
    • 5th grade: 2nd place in school spelling bee.

    Junior high school (grades 7-9, age 13-15)

    • 7th grade: 2nd place in school science fair; invited to regional science fair, won 3rd place; invited to state science fair, won 3rd place. Science project entitled "The Electrolytic Capacitor". Also won Schaak Electronics award for best electronics project.
    • 8th grade: placed in school, regional, and state science fairs; won several other awards. Science project entitled "The Audio Amplifier".
    • 9th grade: placed in school, regional, and state science fairs; won several other awards. Science project entitled "The Superheterodyne Radio Receiver".
    • 9th grade: won 1st place in junior high school chess tournament.

    High school (grades 10-12, age 16-18)

    • 10th grade: placed in school, regional, and state science fairs; won several other awards. Science project entitled "A Computer Program For Simplifying Boolean Expressions".
    • 11th grade: placed in school, regional, and state science fairs; won several other awards. Science project entitled "An 8080 Based Computer".
    • 11th grade: placed in 1st high school in national math exam. Placed 15th in state of Minnesota on the exam.
    • 11th grade: Admitted to one of the world's top science universities without doing year 12 of high school. Skipped year 12 of high school and went straight to university.

    University

    • Graduated from California Institute of Technology - Caltech (a top science university) , straight A grade average, with undergrad engineering degree.
    • Graduated from Stanford University (a top ivy-league university) with my advanced degree.
    • Awarded "honor standing" for high grades.
    • Received "Henry Ford II" scholarship for top engineering student in school.
    • Received university "prize scholarship" for excellent grades.

    Career after graduation

    • Held various engineering, management, and consulting positions with high technology companies.
    • Awarded more than 10 patents for various inventions.
    • Currently director of a small research group at a software company.
    • Named chief scientist in a small software company
    • Named technology fellow in a small software company, the highest technical position in the company, equivalent in rank to vice-president.
